Service Description
The Peak District has a rich and historical association with food. Many foods are internationally recognised boasting “origin status” where traditions having been passed down through the generations. More recently innovative food businesses have been set up offering locally sourced and often organic produce. This day trip combines a culinary experience with awe inspiring scenery to 'food match'. The linear tour commences from Ashbourne is where gingerbread cakes were created by a French prisoner during the Napoleonic wars. The route then follows the bike trail through Tissington and onto Hartington where two cafes offer Derbyshire oatcakes both sweet and savoury and Derbyshire parkin. It is also home to the Old Cheese Shop where Dovedale Blue and Hartington Stilton excel. The tour then follows minor tracks out to a 'gastro pub' at Hurdlow before a trail to Tagg Lane with an artisan offering of raw milk gelato from Jersey cows. The route then provides stunning scenery from Monyash to Sheldon looking down the dale before a straight decent into Bakewell to discover the secret of the Bakewell Pudding shop, handcrafted chocolates and a world renowned local brewery specialising in pizza to end your journey. Cancellation Policy
Running Tours is our business so as a general rule we cannot accept last minute cancelation requests where we cannot easily re-book the date. If you need to change the date of your pre-booked tour we do ask for at least seven days notice so that we have the opportunity to re-book your slot. There is no additional charge for changing the date of your tour. If you give us less than 7 days notice and we cannot resell the slot we reserve the right to charge a 50% re-booking fee. We do not offer refunds on cancelled tours only the opportunity to re-book As a general rule we will not cancel any eBike tours based on the weather unless the conditions are so extreme they are not safe for cycling. We use the Met Office to monitor if any severe weather warnings are expected
