What is the best eTrike for Riding Up Hills

Being based in the Peak District we know a bit about hills which is why all the eBikes & eTrikes we use are suitable for climbing even the steepest hills
Anything over 10% is conisdered a steep hill and the higher the percentage the steeper the hill. Cheaper eBikes and hub drive eTrikes really do struggle on steeper hills
Many of our tours feature hills between 10% to 15% which can be climbed pretty effortlessly on our eBikes & eTrikes
Anything over 15% is pretty steep and even on an eBike or eTrike might require a little more effort - we have very few tours with hills this steep
Most eBikes nowdays are mid drive but eTrikes are a bit different and most are hub drive which makes it harder for them on steeper hills. This is why we only use mid drive eTrikes on our tours
Mid-drive motors are mounted in the trikes's bottom bracket which means they have the following advantages for hills
Power is routed through the drivetrain better utilising the gears as a power multiplie
Superior torque multiplication from pedalling
Easier to maintain consistent RPMs in an optimal range without overheating or losing momentum.
Better weight distribution improves the trike center of gravity improving balance and handling on uneven & steep terrain.
Easier tyre maintenance as the motor isn't housed inside the wheel so changing a tyres or servicing a wheel is much easier than dealing with a heavy hub motor.
Winnats Pass is famous for its steep and relentless climb averaging between 11% & 12% over its 1.5 mile length making it perfect for eBikes and eTrikes (although there is one small section near the top that is 20%)
